Featuring Australia's highest rated player Grandmaster Zong-Yuan Zhao and Australia's board 3/4 at the 2012 Olympiad (and Cup Weekender winner) International Master Max Illingworth.

A FIDE rated event, MCC Grand Prix event.

Featuring: GM Zong-Yuan Zhao! IM Max Illingworth!

When: Friday December 14th to Sunday December 16th.

Where: Melbourne Chess Club, 66 Leicester St. Fitzroy.

Format: 6 round Swiss.

Timetable: Round 1: Friday December 14, 7pm
Round 2: Saturday December 15, 10am
Round 3: Saturday December 15, 2.30pm
Round 4: Saturday December 15, 7pm
Round 5: Sunday December 16, 10am
Round 6: Sunday December 16, 2pm

Time controls: 90 min + 30 seconds per move.

Byes: Players may take 2 half point byes in rounds 1 – 4. Half point byes are not given in rounds 5 or 6.

Grand Prix: MCC Grand Prix (final event for the year)
Australian Grand Prix (class 2)
Oceana Grand Prix (class 2)

Prizes: The following prizes are based on 32 paying entries:
1st, $500
2nd, $300
3rd, $200
Rating prizes, to be confirmed

Rating: The event will be FIDE and ACF rated.

Arbiter: Kerry Stead (the best in the business!)

Pairings: Pairings will be done with Swissperfect
