Novice Night is the perfect introduction to the club for players who are new to the game or who have played against their friends and want to start playing in a club or a tournament environment. The evening is informal and friendly with a wide range of activities including coaching, lectures, theme tournaments, blitz and social games. Some strong players also attend to give handy hints.

The evening is hosted by FM Grant Szuveges and Elizabeth Warren.

WEDNESDAY: Endgame Study Group

E-mail Print PDF

The endgame study group meets every Wednesday evening at 7 pm. Carl Gorka and the other participants study all aspects of endgames including both theoretical endings and practical endgame themes. Some very strong players participate regularly alongside absolute beginners. The group is suitable for all levels of player and is enjoyed by all. One of the participants usually bakes a cake and brings it in - another nice touch.

The evening is hosted by Carl Gorka.

New this year

50 prize for the best endgame played by an MCC member, in an MCC held event.

Please submit your entries to your tournament arbiters/DOPs, or MCC Committee members.
