The MCC offers different forms of coaching at different time slots.
Tuesday 6 pm: Novice Night is the perfect introduction to club chess for players who are new to the game or new to the club.
This night involves tournaments, social games, blitz, analysis and coaching/lectures from FM Grant Szuveges (also 2010 MCC president). The evening is hosted by Grant Szuveges and Elizabeth Warren. The night is free for members and non-members pay a visitors fee.
Wednesday 7 pm: Endgame Study Group hosted by Carl Gorka. Carl and other players analyze various theoretical and practical aspects of endgames. The event is free to MCC members and $20 per year for non-members.
Saturday 10 am: Junior (under 18) coaching with Nick Speck and his company Chess Education. From 10 am to 12 noon, Nick gives expert coaching for all level of kids who want to improve their chess. Substantial discounts for MCC members. Many of the kids who attend Saturday morning coaching also play in the Allegro at 2pm (open to both kids and adults).
Individual Coaching
Can be arranged for both adults and children with experienced coaches. Please inquire at the Club.
