Happy to announce that in 2013 the MCC will be adding a Sunday program to the calendar, including 12 advanced lectures, weekly junior/novice classes and tournaments. This will run in addition to our growing Saturday junior classes with (former?) Australian international Nick Speck.

The program will include one advanced lecture per month (from 2.15-3.15, date T.B.A- though probably 20th of Jan or first Sunday of Feb) from a titled player (this will be free for members, $10 for non-members). The lectures will eventually be posted on our youtube channel and we're likely to run a rapid event if there isn't a tournament on after them.

IM James Morris will also be starting novice and junior classes from 12-2 on Sundays. These classes will be open to all players, kids and adults and are aimed at serious novices and kids. Classes are the same price as Nick's, $12 for members, $15 for non-members (cheaper 'term prices').

We will also be adding a Sunday tournament in May which will run on: Sunday the 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th of May and the 3rd of June. The tournament will be a round robin.

All are welcome, please let your friends know. It's a great opportunity for novices to take classes with one of Australia's best players, and free advanced chess lessons once a month for experienced players!
