Hi all,

Pairings will appear first on
chesschat when posted by arbiters, and here when I see them. You can check here for the latest from MCC tournaments, including Pairings, Results & Games.

Here are the round 5 results from the City of Melbourne Open:

1 Puccini, Jack 1891 1845 [3] 0:1 Rujevic, Mirko 2253 2295 [3.5] 2 Pyke, Malcolm L 2111 2117 [3.5] ½:½ Hacche, David J 2066 2095 [3] 3 Bekker, Gary D 1827 1693 [2.5] 1:0 Lacey, David 1962 1909 [2.5] 4 Chew, Jason 1736 1714 [2.5] ½:½ Voon, Richard 1927 1853 [2.5] 5 Kovacevic, Paul 1856 1782 [2] 0:1 Hua, George 2023 2025 [2] 6 Mijatovic, Bosko 1935 1817 [2] 1:0 McCart, Richard 1848 1758 [2] 7 Fry, Peter 1866 1815 [2] 1:0 Anton, Sarah 1751 1567 [2] 8 Lycett, Garry 1916 1807 [1.5] 0:1 Beckman, John 1697 1608 [1.5] 9 Dobos, Daniel 1310 [1.5] 1:0 Papadinis, Jim 1867 1782 [1.5] 10 Kaplan, Alex 1694 1608 [1.5] 1:0 McCart, Roger 1677 1534 [1] 11 Kolak, Tanya 1451 1236 [0] 0:1 Jago, Stephen 1650 1561 [1] 12 Dale, Finley 1738 1569 [2] ½:½ BYE

I had a brief look at a few boards:

Jack Puccini's 4 knights opening ended in a minor piece ending against Mirko Rujevic.
Gary Bekker took advantage of some passive play from David Lacey in what looked like a Nimzo where black never really got started on the doubled c-pawns.
Dan Dobos looked to have a strong position in a Lopez structure with a knight lodged on f5, it looked tough for black.
