MCC 2014 Grand Prix
MCC 2014 Grand Prix is a jackpot system, where $5 from every long play tournament entry contributes toward the jackpot. The jackpot is evenly distributed between Open, U1800 and U1500 divisions. Within each division there will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd awarded in the rations of 4:2:1 respectively.
Only club members will be eligible for a prize in the MCC Grand Prix, however non-members are still eligible for individual tournament prizes. You may win higher divisions. You will be assigned to a division based on your ACF when you play your first tournament. If you do not have an ACF rating at that time your FIDE rating will be used. If you do not have a FIDE rating as well then you will be eligible for all divisions.
Prizes will be based on your BEST 7 scores from 9 MCC long play tournaments. This means you can miss a couple of tournaments and still be competitive to win. Each game counts for one point.
Based on last years 360 tournament entries of the jackpot will be $1800. Based on 2014 target of 450 entries this will be a jackpot of $2250, which is $429 for first in each division.
Next event: no competitions left to enter in 2014
